The City of Sarnia has won the Tech-novation Award at the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce’s Outstanding Business Achievement Awards.
Over the last two years, the City of Sarnia has made significant improvements in its IT service including the introduction of BizPal online business support, live streaming Council meetings, online public input, supporting fibre connectivity, supporting of the Southwestern Ontario Fibre Internet (SWIFT), partnership with Lambton College’s Youth skills connection (YSC), participation in Intelligent Sarnia-Lambton, a commitment to open source technology, volunteer work on the Chamber’s e-commerce task force, direct support of the Sarnia Tech Community, and Sarnia Transit integration with Google maps.
“Currently underway in 2018 is a refresh to the City of Sarnia website with a focus on enhancing the user experience to make information and on-line services more accessible, transparent and open to the public,” explains Mark Dillon, Corporate Manager of Information Technology.
