Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting Wednesday, July 3, 2019, Lambton County Council:

  • Supported a motion to provide formal support for the application for Free Trade Zone status by the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce.
  • Carried a motion to provide Enbridge with a letter of support for the application being submitted to the Ontario Energy Board for the 2021 Sarnia Industrial Pipeline Reinforcement Project.
  • Viewed the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) Top7 Video.
  • Received correspondence from Mitch Twolan, Western Ontario Warden’s Caucus Chair/SouthWestern Integrated Fibre Technology Vice Chair, regarding the approval of SWIFT Phase II Project, which includes a pilot project in Lambton County.
  • Enacted a resolution to authorize the Municipality of Chatham-Kent to direct Telecommunications Service Providers to route 311 calls using the Chatham-Kent Bell exchange boundaries to the Chatham-Kent main service number (311).
  • Received an information report from the Corporate Services Division regarding recent alternate Council member appointments.
  • Received an information report from the Office of the CAO regarding appointment of a Deputy Chief Administration Officer.
  • Carried a motion providing interim direction for 2019 tax capping.
  • Carried a motion concerning the creation of a Steering Committee to make recommendations to Council regarding a new or updated Strategic Plan for the County.
  • Agreed to renew the City/County Agreement for another five year term.
  • Council will next meet in open session at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
