We are pleased to announce that Mr. Sutheat Tim has accepted the position of Director of Legal and Property Services for the City of Sarnia. The position provides a broad range of legal services to the City and the Corporation including all matters related to municipal law, corporate risk management, and maintenance of City owned facilities and properties. His start date with the City will be August 12, 2019. Mr. Tim will be replacing Scott McEachran who left the City at the end of 2018.

Sutheat Tim will be leaving the City of Thunder Bay where he held the position of Deputy City Solicitor. Prior to that, he held positions as Legal Counsel for the Government of Nunavut and Public Trustee for Nunavut. Since 2003 he has held more progressive roles in private practice and government agencies.     

Sutheat Tim holds a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, and a Master of Business Administration from the University du Quebec a Montreal. He is licensed to practice law in Ontario, Quebec, and Nunavut.

He has also worked collaboratively with the indigenous communities in northern Quebec and Nunavut to develop culturally sensitive solutions to prevalent problems.
