This summer, the City of Sarnia will be undertaking a dog census for the purpose of ensuring dogs are licenced.
During the dog census, residents will see by-law enforcement staff going door-to-door, seeking information relating to licencing of dogs. The fine for an unlicensed dog is $150.
Dog owners in the City of Sarnia are required to licence their dogs, over the age of 6 months, annually. In the event that a dog goes missing, a licence helps dogs get back to their owners.
2018 dog licence fees are as follows:
Late Fee (after March 31) | |
Altered dog (spayed or neutered) | $62.00 |
Unaltered dog (not spayed or neutered) | $110.00 |
