The City of Sarnia is pleased to celebrate Earth Day by announcing the winners of the 3rd Annual Go Green Awards. The Annual Go Green Awards were introduced by the Sarnia Environmental Advisory Committee and approved by Sarnia City Council.
The purpose of the Go Green Awards is to promote environmental stewardship within our City and to recognize and celebrate the successes of individuals and groups that make a positive contribution to the improvement of the environment within our City.
Winners were selected in six categories and will receive special recognition at the beginning of the regular meeting of Council on Monday, May 7, 2018 starting at 4:00 p.m. A reception for the winners will precede the Council Meeting at 3:00 p.m. in the main lobby of City Hall.
The 2018 winners are:
Business Stewardship – Small Business: Deb’s Shoe Gallery
Business Stewardship – Medium to Large Business: Western Research Park
Eco-warrior: Mike Kent
Community Stewardship: The Cluster Parishes of St. Benedict, Our Lady of Mercy and St. Joseph
Sarnia’s Greenest Classroom: Miss Deborah Lumley’s Grade 5 Class, Rosedale Public School
Youth or Youth Group: Royal Thunder Robotics
