The final phase of the 2018 bike lane project is underway with the removal of the existing road paint markings, however, an alternate method of road paint removal will be implemented going forward.
The road paint was being removed using a method called “soda blasting” which involves baking soda. Due to the significant dust created during the process we have decided to switch to a different method. The existing road line paint will instead be removed by a combination of grinding and water blasting. This work will commence next week and will take approximately five days to complete.
The road will remain open to traffic during the work.
The City thanks you for your patience as we complete this exciting project to improve our cycling infrastructure.
