The City of Sarnia has developed yard signs to help raise awareness for the Lead Reduction Program.
The Lead Reduction Program is an ongoing initiative that aims to provide free water testing to residences. We are currently focusing our efforts on the primary “Lead Zone” which is bounded by Murphy Road and the St. Clair River (east to west) and Highway 402 to St. Andrew St (north to south).
These yard signs will display contact information relevant to our Lead Reduction office. We encourage residents to contact us should they have any inquiries or concerns related to this program.
Currently, 98% of the properties tested have registered below Ontario’s regulatory standard for lead content in drinking water (10 ug/L). Should your property exceed the standard, our Lead Reduction team will review your options in an effort to reduce or eliminate the lead content in your residence.
Sarnia will also be offering homeowners support through a Filter Rebate Program and a Lead Service Line Replacement Loan Program.
